Bharatpur situated on the eastern part of Rajasthan is famous as the 'bird watcher's paradise'. The world famous Bird Sanctuary located inside the Keoladeo Ghana National Park here is not only the pride of Bharatpur but India. A home to excellent and rare varieties of birds, with not less than 377 bird species already spotted, the sanctuary also provides you an opportunity to see many species of the migratory birds including Siberian cranes that arrive from Central Asia and Russia.

The only important architectural remnants of the royal past is the magnificent Bharatpur Palace which houses a large number of ancient exhibits dating back to as early as the 15th century. Other important tourist spots here are Lohagarh Fort, Jawahar Burj and Fateh Burj and the Government Museum.
