This one is for cultural-enthusiasts and anyone who is proud of India’s culture and heritage. Visit the dwelling place of Lord Krishna – Bet Dwarka, a small island and the erstwhile Kingdom of Dwarka. Visit the holy temples of Dwarkadish, Nageshwara and Somnath. Enjoy a guided sightseeing tour of Ahmedabad for its cultural attractions before returning home.
The Cultural Gujarat tour begins with your pick-up from pre-fixed point of departure. Enjoy the drive from Ahmedabad to Dwarka, an ancient city, once the abode of Lord Krishna and now a principal pilgrimage spot. According to the legend, Lord Krishna set up this coastal city as his capital. Marine excavations of the Dwarka coast have revealed important evidences of ancient city, which probably include the ‘Dwarawati’ of the ‘Krishna Lila’.
Once we arrive at Dwarka, check-in at the hotel, relax awhile and then proceed to visit the Dwarkadhish Temple for the evening aarti.
Overnight in Dwarka
After breakfast, we will visit Bet Dwarka & Nageshwar temples.
Bet Dwarka : Bet Dwarka is an island located some 30 kms from Dwarka. It can be accessed by a small boat or ferry.
Nageshwar Temple or Nagnath Temple is located on the route between Gomati Dwarka and the Bait Dwarka Island on the coast of Saurashtra in Gujarat. The Jyotirlinga enshrined in the Temple of Nagnath is known as NageshwarMahadev and attracts thousands of pilgrims all round the year. This powerful Jyotirlinga symbolizes protection from all poisons. It is said that those who pray to the NageshwarLinga become free of poison. The RudraSamhitasloka refers to Nageshwar with the phrase ‘DaarukaavaneNaagesham’.
The excursion ends with a drop back to the hotel at Dwarka (mainland).
Overnight in Dwarka
After breakfast, visit the Dwarkadhish temple for the morning aarti. Return to hotel, check out and proceed on the drive to Somnath, the next stop on this Cultural Gujarat tour. On arrival at Somnath, check in at the hotel and then set out to visit the Somnath Temple, the First jyotirlinga shrine of Lord Shiva. The temple has been destroyed and looted multiple times over the years, but has been rebuilt again and again. The present temple structure dates back to 1947, when Vallabhbhai Patel visited the area for the integration of Junagadh and mooted a plan for restoration.
Later, return to the hotel for the night.
Overnight in Somnath
After breakfast, check out from your Somnath hotel and embark on the return journey to Ahmedabad. On arrival, check-in at your hotel. No other activities are scheduled for today.
Overnight in Ahmedabad
After breakfast, check out from the hotel and set out on a guided sightseeing tour of Ahmedabad. Places that we will visit as part of this tour includes the Gandhi Ashram, Jamma Masjid, Teen Darwaza and the iconic Hutheesing Temple.
The sightseeing tour ends with a drop at the Ahmedabad Airport for onward journey.
