Itmad-ud-Daulah's Tomb:- After Taj Mahal and Agra Fort, the monument that is most important in Agra is the Tomb of Itmad-ud-Daulah or "Baby Taj" as it is called sometimes. A highly ornate edifice, this mausoleum is considered as the imminent precursor of the Taj Mahal as far as elaborate carvings and inlay work are concerned. Though the structure does not have much to offer architecturally, it makes a clear departure from the earlier Mughal tombs built during the period and is more softer and with a lot of inlay carvings.

Afternoon we return to hotel to rest for a while.

1600 Hrs - Enjoy the Magic Tricks by the local magician.  Later in the evening we go the nearest multiplex to enjoy a ‘Bollywood / India in Motion Movie’. (Approx. 01 hours to 03 hours’ show).

Khajuraho Temples:- Built by the warrior Chandela dynasty that rose to power in Central India between 10th & 11th centuries, the 25 odd surviving temples display different facets of life, including the sensual.  These erotic carvings on some panels have given rise to much speculation since Khajuraho’s re-discovery by a British officer in 1838.

Afterwards continue to airport to board flight to the city of Varanasi.

Varanasi:- One of the holiest cities in India, Varanasi is one of the most important pilgrimage sites and also a major tourist attraction. It has been the religious capital of Hinduism since time immemorial. Situated on the banks of the sacred Ganges, Varanasi has been a center of learning and civilization for more than 2,000 years. Written records of the Skanda Purana and the Mahabharata mention its existence as long as 3,000 years ago. It is probably the oldest living city in India, and one of the world's most ancient. Varanasi has been a great cultural centre, especially in the fields of music, learning and the craft of silk weaving.

On arrival, transfer to the Hotel.

1700 Hrs – Excursion to ‘Daswamedha Ghat’ to witness the evening prayers, ‘Aarti of Ganges River (a divine ceremony on the bank of the River Ganges).

The Dashashwameha ghat is the busiest bathing ghat in Varanasi. The ancient king Divodasa was said to have performed the Dashashwamedha Yajnya (ten horse sacrifice) here. This pleased Brahma, the creator, so much that he established the Brahmeshwara lingam. Boats can be hired at this ghat for a tour of the riverfront. It is also the most popular site for Hindus to perform ancestor worship rituals, and the entire ghat is lined with umbrella covered stalls where Brahmin priests undertake pujas (worship).

Return to the hotel.

Day 12 – Stay in VARANASI / Local city tour
Meals
Included ; Breakfast

0530 Hrs - Early morning Boat Ride on River Ganges and also have walking tour of the ‘Golden Temple’.

Morning Boat Ride:- Sunrise boat excursion on the holy River Ganges. See Varanasi come alive along the banks of the river and people bathing in the holy water and worshiping the rising sun. Witness the conclusion of life at the riverbank holy cremation grounds. It is believed if you die in Varanasi you go straight to heaven. This place will be one of the most extraordinary experiences of your visit to India.

Varanasi Ghats:- The long string of ghats, the chain of stone steps, along the western bank of the Ganges forms the major attraction of Varanasi. There are about hundred ghats in the city and each of them is marked by a lingam and occupies its own special place in the religious geography of the city. The ghats, though some of them have crumbled over the years, continue to thrive with early-morning  bathers, Brahmin priests offering puja and people practicing meditation and yoga. Though most of the ghats are used for bathing, there are several 'burning ghats' were bodies are cremated. The pilgrims here are supposed to bathe at five special ghats in a sequence during a ritual called the Panchatirthi Yatra.

Golden Temple (Kashi Vishwanath Temple):- The temple is located in the premises of the Banaras Hindu University and is about thirty minutes walk from the gates of the university. The temple, built by the Birlas, was planned by Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya. Unlike many other temples in Varanasi, this temple is open to all irrespective of caste or creed.

0900 Hrs - Return to hotel for breakfast.

1200 hrs - Proceed to city tour including ‘Sarnath’ (12 km / 45 minutes one way).  Later visit ‘Birla Temple in Banaras Hindu University, Monkey Temple & Bharat Mata  Temple’.

Sarnath:-  Located at a distance of  12 km from Varanasi in the northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. Sarnath is the place where Lord Buddha delivered his first sermon to his five disciples, preaching the middle path for attaining 'Nirvana'. Realising the sanctity of the site, emperor Ashoka, in the 3rd century B.C. built some of the finest monuments and legacies, a rare site to appreciate.

Bharat Mata Temple:- This temple of Bharat Mata (Mother India), inaugurated by Mahatma Gandhi, lies about 3 kilometres west of Godaulia, outside the old city. Here, instead of gods and goddesses, one finds a huge relief map in marble of the whole of Indian subcontinent and Tibetan plateau. The map is said to be perfectly to scale both vertically and horizontally with mountains, rivers and the holy tirthas (pilgrimage centres) all clearly visible.

Banaras Hindu University:-  The Banaras Hindu University or BHU is an internationally reputed University and is situated in Varanasi and played an important role in the Indian independence movement. Over a period of time, it has developed into one of the greatest centers of learning in India. The BHU has produced many great freedom fighters and Nation builders. It has immensely contributed to the progress of the nation through a large number of renowned scholars, artists and scientists.  The Banaras Hindu University has a sprawling campus, spanning across 1300 acres. It has well maintained roads (crossing each other at right angle), extensive greenery, a temple, an airstrip and buildings, which are an architectural delight.

Evening Return to the hotel.

Day 13 – Fly VARANASI to DELHI (Free & Easy in Delhi)
Jet Airways Flight : 9W-724 (Dep: 1440 hrs / Arr: 1600 hrs)
Meals
Included; Breakfast

1000 Hrs - 1130 Hrs: Meeting with a professional ‘Yoga & Mediation’ instructor.

Yoga & Mediation:- Rejuvenate yourself, the most effective way, just as our saints and Sadhus have been doing for centuries.

Meditation and Yoga are synonymous with India, and mostly linked to the attainment of spirituality. India is known as the country where Yoga and Meditation are a way of life. India, though taking impressive strides towards urbanization and industrialization, still has locales where the concepts of Yoga and Meditation are an integral part of human life.
Yoga was propounded by the ancient Indian sage Patanjali and is derived from the language Sanskrit word 'Yog' which means 'union,' presumably union with the divine being or God. It is a secular and scientific methodology to experience the integration of the mind-body-spirit.
Later departure transfer to airport to board the Flight to Delhi.

Again we refer to our FREE & EASY SCHEME IN DELHI or Clients depart accordingly to their OPTIONAL TOURS

·         Domestic flights / trains in India suffer constant modifictions/ delays and cancellations.  In such cases, we will do all possible to look for the best available alternative / solution but will not accept any responsisiblity whatsoever.

·         The prevailing check-in/out time in India is 12’Noon, however some hotels may differ which will be brought to your notice separately.

·         Ours is very different country than elsewhere in every respect.  While we have some of the best hotels in the world, the road conditions, transport as well as domestic flights cannot be compared with those elsewhere. The average speed on roads in India is 40-50 Kms per hour.
