About Gangtok
Gangtok is the city where one can experience nature’s beauty in true sense. One can hear the call of the hills, mingle with the bounties of nature… sit in the peaceful surroundings of the monasteries… shop for trinkets and tribal handicrafts in the long-winding bazaars…in the capital of Sikkim. The city offers some of the most astounding locations which are a treat to the eyes. There are places of worship with fine architecture like the Tsuklakhang or Royal Chapel, the Do-drul Chorten, the Ganesh Tok, the Hanuman Tok, the Enchey Monastery and the Phurba-Chorten.

Gangtok witnesses the presence of extraordinary monuments where Palace of the Chogyal and the White Hall are the prominent ones. Other places of tourist interest are the flower exhibition centre, the deer park, the Pang Lhabsol festival, Tashi View Point, orchid gardens sanctuaries and the Himalayan Zoological Park. Gangtok is encircled by places which have scenic views and extraordinary locations for the visitors. Some of these are the Changu Lake (35 kms), Saramsa Garden (15 km), Chungthang (95 km), Yumthang (140 km), Kabi Lungchok (17 km) and Namchi (78 km).

About Sikkim
Once a remote mountain kingdom, it is now a small Himalayan State of India in the Eastern Himalayas surrounded by China & Tibet in the North. Bhutan on the SouthEast, West Bengal in the South and Nepal in the West Mountain Ranges. It also constitutes the watershed of the Great Teesta and Rangeet rivers. Kanchenjunga (28,168 ft.) the third highest peak in the world is in Sikkim and is regarded as a guardian deity by the Sikkimese people.
