About Port Blair
Lying to the South East of India in the Bay of Bengal, Port Blair, the capital of 350 odd Andaman and Nicober group of islands is a live museum. Rich in flora and fauna, underwater life in its most vibrant form could be seen from close quarters here. That defines why, apart from swimming, scuba diving is so popular here. The British built Cellular jail remains the most notable tourist attraction here. Other places worth a visit are Anthropological Museum, Marine Museum and mini zoo. A trip to Port Blair would be incomplete without a visit to the nearby Barren Islands, India's only dormant volcano.
